Crystal Apple Teacher Recognition Awa...Description
The C.A.R.E. Task Force of the Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the six finalists for this year’s Crystal Apple Teacher Recognition Program. The task force is made up of representatives from the business community. This is the 19th year the program has honored outstanding teachers in Finney County for their exceptional efforts in education.
“The Chamber is thrilled to support our Finney County teachers,” says Steve Dyer, Chamber President, “They work hard to ensure students enter the work force with basic skills needed to be productive in the workplace. We want to recognize teachers who go above and beyond to make that happen.”
The 2014 finalists are: Grant Allen, Kenneth Henderson Middle School; Sarah Cross, Abe Hubert Elementary School; Melanie Garrison, Garfield Early Childhood Center; Brandy Gnad, Abe Hubert Elementary School; Kip Nichols, Garden City High School; and Daniel Rinkoski, Horace J. Good Middle School.
The top three finalists will be named as the 2014 Crystal Apple Teachers of Finney County at the awards banquet hosted by presenting sponsor Bors Law, P.A., on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the Clarion Inn, 1911 East Kansas Avenue. The three finalists will receive an engraved crystal apple, $1,000 cash award and an I-Pad tablet courtesy of COX Communications. The three semi-finalist will be presented with a cash award of $250.
Reservations for the banquet are required by 5 p.m., Friday, November 14, 2014. Cost is $25 per person, payable in advance to the Chamber of Commerce, 1511 E. Fulton Terrace.
